
The Asia Pacific Accreditation and Certification Commission (APACC) conducted a reaccreditation orientation session for Southern Isabela College of Arts and Technology (SICAT) on February 27, 2025, at the SICAT campus in Santiago City, Isabela, Philippines. The session was led by Prof. Dr. Suresh Kumar Dhameja, APACC President, and Ms. Julifer Madeja, APACC Officer, who provided lectures on the updated quality standards and processes for TVET accreditation.
The program formally started with a welcome address from Engr. Dominador D. Dizon, PhD, SICAT Acting Vocational School Superintendent. In his message, Engr. Dizon expressed his heartfelt gratitude to APACC, SICAT, and the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) for organizing the orientation with the goal of advancing SICAT’s TVET quality. He also acknowledged the distinguished guests and participants of the session.

The full-day orientation covered key topics that are necessary for quality assurance in TVET institutions. Prof. Dr. Dhameja covered the topics on "Changing Paradigm of TVET," "Quality Assurance in TVET," and the "Seven Criteria of APACC Accreditation”, while Ms. Madeja discussed the topic "APACC Accreditation Process for Quality Assurance."
Following the four sessions, an open forum allowed the SICAT team to engage in APACC-related discussions with Prof. Dr. Dhameja and Ms. Madeja.

The day concluded with closing remarks from Engr. Wilbert D. Dela Cruz Jr., SICAT Vocational Instruction Supervisor-Designate. The SICAT team also awarded certificates and presented tokens of appreciation to Prof. Dr. Dhameja and Ms. Madeja.
For the record, SICAT was previously accredited in 2017 and was recognized as a Silver-Award APACC institution from 2017 to 2021.
