The Asia Pacific Accreditation and Certification Commission (APACC) conducted its first on-site visit to Khugjil Polytechnic College (KPC) in Khovd, Mongolia from September 18 to 20, 2024. KPC submitted its first accreditation to APACC in pursuit of earning a silver-level award.
On September 18, 2024, the accreditation visit commenced with a welcome speech from KPC Director Dr. Bayarmaa Davaa, followed by the introduction of the APACC Accreditation Team by Ms. Julifer Madeja who joined as Documentation Officer. She introduced Dr. Godelyn Hisole as Lead Accreditor, and Prof. Chuluuntsetseg Dagvadorj as Member Accreditor. Afterwards, Prof. Chuluuntsetseg delivered some special remarks while Dr. Hisole gave a briefing on the three-day on-site visits and activities.
The highlight of the three-day accreditation focused on the rigorous discussions and validation of evidence for the indicators of the seven APACC criteria on (I) Governance and Management, (II) Teaching and Learning, (III) Human Resources, (IV) Research and Development, (V) Image and Sustainability, (VI) Other Resources, and (VII) Support to Students.
To support the evidentiary documents, the APACC team visited some KPC’s facilities, including its dormitories, and interviewed some students and dorm personnels for evidence validation. A surprise visit to KPC’s second building was conducted on the third day wherein the APACC team engaged with some of KPC’s industry partners, such as Khovd Eco Cement Factory and Khovd Local Garment, to verify the strong ties between KPC and its industry partners.
