The Colombo Plan Staff College (CPSC) welcomes its new Director General, Dr. Suresh Kumar Dhameja, who officially assumed the post on September 2, 2024 as the 13th Director General of the Staff College and the President of the Asia Pacific Accreditation and Certification Commission (APACC). His appointment was made by the CPSC Governing Board during the Special Governing Board held on April 18, 2024 in Manila, Philippines. Dr. Dhameja previously served as the CPSC Governing Board-Engaged Faculty Consultant from September 2005 to September 2008 seating as the Chairman of Training and Development; Research, Publications, and Information; APACC; and General Services Divisions.
Prior to his appointment as the new CPSC Director General, Dr. Dhameja was Professor in the Department of Entrepreneurship Development & Industrial Coordination (EDIC) at National Institute of Technical Teachers Training and Research (NITTTR) in Chandigarh, India. He also held various positions at NITTTR such as the Dean for Academic and International Affairs; Head of Departments of EDIC, Information Management & Emerging Engineering (IMEE); and Chairman of Academic Cell.
Along with his eminent career in NITTTR, Dr. Dhameja conducted training programs and consultancy assignments in more than 30 countries including the United States of America, United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, Germany, South Korea, Japan, Italy, and Singapore. He has also earned his distinctions from different international organizations, and part of the panel of World Bank, and UNESCO.
Dr. Dhameja has published more than 40 papers in International and National Journals; presented 143 papers in various international and national conferences; and authored and edited 22 books in the area of Environmental Engineering, Environmental Management, and Entrepreneurship. Furthermore, he graduated from premier universities in India with Bachelor in Civil Engineering, M.Tech in Geotechnical Engineering, Master of Business Administration (MBA), and Ph.D. in Business Management.
Dr. Dhameja is now set to lead CPSC and APACC towards its mission and aspirations as he starts this new journey. We encourage our liaison officers, development partners and stakeholders to welcome our new Director General.
