The Asia Pacific Accreditation and Certification Commission (APACC) in collaboration with Instituto Nacional De Desenvolvimento De Māo-de-Óbra (INDMO) conducted a successful training on the APACC accreditation process from August 23 - 27, 2021.
The online activity held via Zoom was titled “APACC Accreditors Training for INDMO”. It was implemented as part of the activities in the Memorandum of Understanding between APACC and INDMO to promote Quality Assurance in TVET through APACC Accreditation in Timor Leste. Eighteen (18) participants with different but equally impressive backgrounds on TVET were trained on the seven (7) APACC criteria, the responsibilities of an APACC accreditor, and the processes and documents required for an institutional evaluation.
CPSC Director General and APACC President, Dr. Ramhari Lamichhane, graced the training with his presence as the Program Coordinator as well as Resource Speaker. The National Director of INDMO, Mrs. Isabel Fernandes de Lima, was also present during the activity to express her unwavering support to the participants and to APACC.
Along with Dr. Ramhari Lamichhane are Dr. Romulita Alto, CPSC Project-Based Faculty Consultant and seasoned APACC Accreditor; Ms. Therese Lee, International TVET Expert; and Ms. Adrienne Abril, APACC Officer, who served as Resource Speakers for the activity. They delivered engaging lectures as they shared their knowledge and actual experiences about institutional evaluation, and provided the participants with a deeper understanding of APACC Criteria, indicators, sub-indicators, and roles and responsibilities as APACC Accreditors that the participants may use for the benefit of their respective institutions and in promoting quality TVET in Timor Leste. The 5-day training was filled with sharing and insightful discussions among the attendees, as well as group and individual tasks which the participants dutifully accomplished.
