For the fourth time since 2008, the Concepcion Vocational School (CVS) in the province of Tarlac, Philippines, subjected itself to APACC accreditation to reaffirm the effectiveness of its quality practices. The revisit was held from June 24-25, 2019.
Previously, the institution was awarded an APACC silver level accreditation which was valid from April 18, 2016 until April 17, 2019.
The APACC team assigned for this visit consisted of the following members: Lead Accreditor, Dr. Romulita Alto, Research Consultant, Technological Institute of the Philippines (TIP), Member Accreditor, Mr. Sanyog Bhattarai, CPSC Faculty Specialist, and APACC Documentation Officer, Mr. Vergel Dela Paz, CPSC General Services Officer.
The two (2) day on-site revisit commenced on June 24, 2019 through a short program attended by CVS management and staff led by Dr. Alvin Yturralde, CVS Vocational School Administrator (VSA). During the opening program, Dr. Yturralde expressed his warm welcome to the APACC team and proudly discussed the improvements and accomplishments based on recommendations during the last APACC on-site visit.
Mr. Bhattarai and Dr. Alto expressed their sincere appreciation to CVS for continuously believing and submitting itself to APACC accreditation process. Dr. Alto provided a brief orientation on the reassessment process and emphasized that the 2-day on-site revisit will focus on the verification and validation of the self-study report (SSR) submitted by CVS based on the seven criteria of APACC: (1) Governance and Management, (2) Teaching and Learning, (3) Human Resources, (4) Research and Development, (5) Image and Sustainability, (6) Other Resources, and (7) Support to Students.
The tour of facilities followed immediately after the opening program. A series of interviews with different group of staff per respective criterion and documents inspection were then conducted to validate the claims stated in the Self Study Report.
The 2-day on-site revisit concluded on June 25, 2019. The qualitative report including commendations, affirmations, and recommendations were presented by the Lead Accreditor, Dr. Romulita Alto, during the exit meeting.
The Concepcion Vocational School (CVS) is an institution created under Republic Act 8138 - An Act Establishing a Vocational School in the Municipality of Concepcion, Province of Tarlac under the supervision of the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA). CVS offers programs registered with TESDA under the Unified TVET Program Registration and Accreditation System (UTPRAS) with emphasis on agriculture, vocational and technical training, and science and technology education.
