As an affirmation of continuous campaign towards promoting quality assurance in TVET institutions in the region, the APACC through a team of Accreditors conducted an on-site re-visit of the Jacobo Z. Gonzales Memorial School of Arts and Trades (JZGMSAT) at Brgy. San Antonio, Binan, Laguna, Philippines from April 12 to 13, 2012.
The institution is the second to be revisited since the APACC started its accreditation activities in 2008. Through the visit, APACC revalidated and re-assessed the institution’s claim for renewal of its Bronze Accreditation received in April 2009 or possible elevation of its accreditation.
The APACC team was led by Engr. Md. Jahangir Alam, CPSC Faculty Specialist, together with Dr. Romulita Alto, APACC Accreditor and Rae Emmanuel Echaveria, APACC Staff and Research Assistant. Ms. B. Alntanchimeg, Officer of the TVET Accreditation and Finance of the Mongolian National Council for Education Accreditation, accompanied the team as an observer.
JZGMSAT officials led by Mr. Rolando dela Torre, Vocational Administrator II, and Dir. Pascual Arriola, Provincial Director of TESDA Laguna Province were present during the accreditation activity. They both confirmed APACC’s importance in their operations, and the benefits that it has brought to the institution including the spearheading of institutional and infrastructure improvements.
JZGMSAT is the only TESDA administered vocational institute located in the province of Laguna and one of the earliest institutions to be first accredited by APACC. It envisions being a centre for excellence in the field of technology contributing to the development of the nation through producing globally competent workforce. It aims to execute the vision through providing technical education and training to its stakeholders though innovative techniques essential to produce responsible workers.
