The Asia Pacific Accreditation and Certification Commission (APACC) conducted on-site visits to two (2) TVET (Technical and Vocational Education and Training) Schools in Mongolia - Construction College and Food Technology College - held on June 8 & 9 and June 10 and 11, 2009 respectively. The schools were the first two institutions visited by APACC in Mongolia.
Prof. Dr. Rajesh P. Khambayat, APACC Joint Coordinator led the on-site visits as Team Leader while Mrs. Chuluuntsetseg Dagvadorj, Curriculum Development Specialist of TVET Project MCA (Millennium Challenge Account) - Mongolia and APACC National Coordinator for Accreditation (NCA) for Mongolia acted as the facilitator for both on-site visits.
Mr. Yura Jigj, Head of TVET Schools Association of Mongolia and Dr. Regsuren Bat-Erdene, Director of Information, Monitoring and Evaluation of the Ministry of Education, Culture and Science (MECS), comprised the team of accreditors for the on-site visit of Construction College. Similarly, Dr. Sukhbaatar Javzan, Director of TVET Project, MCA-Mongolia and Mr. Ganbold Ulziimend, Senior Officer of the Department of Higher and Vocational Education, MECS, acted as accreditors for on-site visit of Food Technology College.
The on-site visits facilitated the validation of the Self Study Reports submitted by the institutions to assess their compliance to APACC standards. Result of the visits will be determined after the accreditation procedure and will be announced accordingly.
The Construction College is a public Engineering and Vocational Training School established in year 1954, with a mission to be a leading institution and to prepare students for the construction professions at international standards. It offers courses ranging from certificate courses to undergraduate courses. The College is currently headed by Mr. Chimiddorj Baasanchoimbol, the College Director.
Food Technology College, on the other hand, is a Public Technical College established in year 1965, with a mission of educating highly qualified professionals in food and service sector and being the institute that complies with international standard requirement. It offers courses ranging from certificate courses to masters courses. The College is currently headed by the Director, Mr. Baasanjav Baramsai.
