APACC Signs MOA with TVEC,Sri Lanka
APACC and the Tertiary and Vocational Education Commission (TVEC), an apex statutory body in vocational education and training in Sri Lanka, whose prime responsibility is to maintain the system for quality assurance in the structured path of TVET sector, signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) on May 2006.
The Agreement specifies joint undertakings to promote the goals and objectives of APACC as a mechanism to encourage TVET institutions in member countries to undergo evaluation under APACC procedures and standards, among others.
Signing the MOA on behalf of APACC and TVEC were APACC President and CPSC Director General Dr. Man-Gon Park and TVEC Director General Dr. T.A. Piyasiri, respectively. Mr. B.H.S. Suraweera, Deputy Director General of TVEC and Dr. Ligaya D. Valmonte, CPSC Faculty and Director for Special Services, were witnesses to the signing.
Among the functions of TVEC include preparation of policies and plans, maintenance of a national accreditation and certification system, maintenance of a LMI, assistance and guidance to TVE institutes, and development of core curricula.
TVEC assures its fullest cooperation to implement Regional Accreditation program of APACC.
